This course is aimed at enthusiasts of children’s books, aspiring illustrators,professional illustrators, or curious individuals who have a desire to delve into the subject.

The objective is to guide students on a wonderful journey of discovery into illustrated picture books and books for young readers. Throughout the course, students will learn the basic concepts needed to create an illustrated book project, which they will begin developing in class.

As the instructor, I enjoy supporting each student in the creation and development of their own project, starting from the initial idea and progressing to the finished prototype and at least one final illustration.

We will begin with a general overview of the history of illustration the history of illustration and its most important artists. From there, we will delve practically into the various nuances of the illustrator’s profession, including market analysis, techniques, target audience considerations, composition, and character study.
